Obituary: A. Dale Wagner

Funeral services for Archie Dale Wagner, 86, Lawrence, were Wednesday, April 11, at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Graveside services with military honors were at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Wagner died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 25, 1920, in York, Neb., the son of Archie C. and Isabelle Mannon Wagner.

Mr. Wagner served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the China, Burma and India theaters. He worked as a construction supervisor with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and retired in 1994 after 38 years of service.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

He married Frances Dreier on Dec. 20, 1941, in Concordia. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Marcia Johnson, Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Terry Wagner, Perry, Iowa, Randy Wagner, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Timothy Wagner, Eudora; two grandsons; three stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharen Ann Wagner.

The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence 66044.
