ECKAN co-op meeting
The regular meeting of the East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education Board of Directors took place April 10 at the Cooperative Central Office in Baldwin City. Members present were Blaine Cone, Susan Rader, Ande Parks, Kenny Massey, Jim Martin, director Caren Lowe and clerk of the board Sue Martin. Ardith Bell was unable to attend.
Lowe gave handouts to the board comparing this year's teacher caseloads and the anticipated caseloads for fiscal year 2008.
Rader made a motion to accept the resignations for the following staff: Claudine Boldridge, Eudora School Psychologist; Ashley Baehr Pousson, Wellsville Early Childhood; Heather Heath, Wellsville IRR and Kathryn Williamson, Baldwin School Psychologist. Massey seconded the motion and it carried by a 5-0 vote.
Massey made a motion to accept staff renewal recommendations as presented for 2007-2008 for the following: Janelle Arb, Lee Hanson, Melissa McCauley, Nicole Ramirez, Holly Balch, Sarah Harris, Jean McCullough, Shannon Rasmussen, Laura Beaulieu, Brock Hartshorn, Donna McMillen, Judy Rose, Krista Beckley, Barbie Hartwell, Justin Mayer, Barb Schwering, Donalyn Biehler, Jennifer Herrington, Chad Motter, Clara Smith, Ruth Burks, Justin Hoffman, Deb Murray, Stephanie Soden, Diane Coffman, Carol Hopping, Marlene Nelson, Sandra Steinmetz, Charles Davis, Michelle Johnson, Samantha Nondorf, Cheri Taggart, Pam Davis, Elaine Kautsch, Linda Nyhart, Burdine Taylor, Janet Delgado, Janet Kelly, Jean Osborn, Linda Troutfetter, Barb Durkin, Barbara Kessler, Meghan Othick, Jennipher Vance, Katie Fender, Deanna Kessler-Miley, Rachel Padfield, Sheila Vander Tuig, Barbara Flett, Claire Kueffer, Ty Pattison, Jana Wallen, Ruth Foehringer, Loretta Lauinger, Rosemary Pratt, Janey Wiseman, Molly Fruetel, Sara Lindsay, Jan Prough and Carol Wright.
Jim Martin seconded the motion and it passed by a 5-0 vote.
Massey made a motion to accept the following new staff contracts for the 2007-2008 school term: John Booze, Eudora Psychologist; Shauna Cushman, EMS IRR; Abby Scheu, EHS IRR; and Kathryn Williamson, Baldwin Psychologist.
Also approved is a paraeducator contract for Lauren Kracl, Eudora, for the remainder of the 2006-2007 school term.
Jim Martin seconded the motion and it carried by a 5-0 vote.
Parks made a motion to approve making the 12-month paycheck option available to paraeducators. Rader seconded the motion. The motion failed by a 1-4 vote.
The East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education is the special education cooperative that serves Eudora, Baldwin and Wellsville.
