Pinecrest news

April 26, 2007

The April potluck dinner will be at noon Saturday in Pinecrest II clubroom.

  • Clarice Morriss and Alta Vorhies went out for lunch and shopping Saturday.

  • Jane Wetzel, Westwood, visited her aunt Tillie Bichelmeyer Tuesday. They had lunch together.

  • Joe and Marty Bichelmeyer, Shawnee, visited their aunt Tillie Bichelmeyer Friday and then came back on Sunday to take her to church.

  • Bertie Morriss reports that her son Allen Morriss came home from St. Luke's Hospital Tuesday evening and is doing much better.

  • Darlene Randel and Elva Jordan drove to De Soto Friday evening and attended the Kansas Old Time Pickers and Fiddlers. Darlene sang with them. De Soto and Spring Hill will host the Kansas Pickers and Fiddlers convention Friday and Saturday in De Soto.

  • My sister Edna Holmes and my daughter Sharon Musick and I attended the Douglas County Spring Tea Friday at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Lawrence.

  • My daughter and son-in-law Sharon and LaVerne Musick, Linwood, took me to Kansas City Saturday to the home of Don and Lorene Huffman for our annual cousin get-together dinner.

Those enjoying the day were Richard and Marcia Tuggle, Alamosa, Colo., Howard Huck, Meriden, Margaret Hankins, Montrose, Mo., Danny Hankins, Peculiar, Mo., Dick Hankins, Belton, Mo., Jerry Hankins, Rickhill, Mo., and Lacy Huffman, Kansas City, Kan.

  • My son Richard Tuggle and his wife, Marcia, came from Alamosa, Colo., to visit. He told me Saturday he was coming back Sunday afternoon to take me for a motorcycle ride. So I got on behind him on his motorcycle and went for a ride around town.

It was fun, but the best part was when he told my daughter Sharon he was proud of me, at 87, for riding with him on his motorcycle. After our ride, he took some of my great-great-grandchildren for a ride, too.

Richard and his wife stopped in Eudora before going to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to a Navy reunion for a few days.

  • My Sunday afternoon visitors were Richard and Marcia Tuggle, Alamosa, Colo., Sharon Musick, Linwood, David Tuggle and son, Austin, Autumn Musick and children, Aftyn, Trinity and Duncan.
