Obituary: Betty L. Bodam
Graveside services for Betty Lee Bodam, 79, Linwood, were Wednesday, Aug. 1, in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan.
Mrs. Bodam died Friday, July 27, 2007, at her home.
She was born in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Mae and George Stephenson. She graduated from Argentine High School in 1945.
She and her husband celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in April. They worked in their businesses, Tip-Top Sport Shop and Bodam's Drive-in, in Kansas City, Kan., for 20 years. She then worked for Alex R. Masson Greenhouse and retired from Red-Ranch Rental. She became the bookkeeper for Stout's Corner for an additional 10 years, retiring at age 70.
Mrs. Bodam was a member of the Tri-County Rod and Gun Club, where she participated in many sporting activities and was the Kansas State Women's Indoor Archery Champion in 1974.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Bodam, of the home; a son, Gary Bodam, Jackson, Miss.; two daughters, Deanna Whelan, Shawnee, and Carol Floyd, Linwood; a brother, Donald E. Stephenson, San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Kendallwood Hospice, 2908 NE Vivion Road, Riverside, MO 64150.
Alden-Harrington Chapel in Bonner Springs was in charge of arrangements.
