Pinecrest news

Fourteen residents and friends enjoyed the August birthday party Friday evening in Pinecrest II clubroom.


  • The potluck dinner will be at noon Saturday in the clubroom.

  • Marty and Joe Bichelmeyer, Shawnee, visited their aunt Tillie Bichelmeyer Monday and took her out for lunch.

  • Tillie Bichelmeyer and Emma Jean Taylor drove to the home of Jan Kelly in Overland Park for lunch Tuesday. They spent the afternoon playing pinochle. Other guests were Ellen Moll and Julia Polfer, Lenexa.

  • Betty Ryan spent form Saturday until Friday with her daughter Barbara Earnhart in Linwood.

  • Marilyn and Melvin Morriss Jr. took his mother, Clarice Morriss, to Weston, Mo., to attend the funeral of Clarice's son-in-law Tom Thompkins.

  • Ken and Briana Fualenkamp and their 10-month-old daughter Theobe, all of Keller, Texas, visited their grandmother Elva Jordan and aunt Darlene Randel.

  • Sunday afternoon visitors of Elva Jordan and Darlene Randel were Joe and Ruth Ann Senserri, De Soto.

  • Elva Jordan had the misfortune to fall Saturday evening. She was taken to the emergency room, but she did not have any broken bones. She's just sore and bruised. She is recovering at her home.

  • Felicia Brown, Lawrence, visited her mother, Alta Vorhies, Monday morning.

  • Darlene Randel and her mother, Elva Jordan, attended the Vinland Fair Friday and Saturday. It was he 100th anniversary of the fair.

  • Josh Smith visited me Saturday afternoon and brought me some tomatoes. He also passed some out to other Pinecrest residents. The tomatoes were from my daughter and son-in-law Sharon and LaVerne Musick's garden.

  • My granddaughter Anita Musick visited me Saturday evening. She brought my great-great-grandson Salim Smith of Tonganoxie to see me.

  • My daughter Sharon Musick and my great-great-granddaughter Aftyn Hankins visited me Thursday evening.

  • Bertie Morriss took her son Allen Morriss out for lunch Tuesday to celebrate his birthday.
