Local organization
The Cardinal 12th Man is seeking corporate sponsors.
The organization is devoted to providing and enhancing the quality of the Eudora football program.
The first football game is Aug. 31 at Osawatomie and the team travels to Central Heights Sept. 7. The first home game is Sept. 14 against Wellsville, which is homecoming.
The Cardinal 12th Man provides student athletes with pre-game meals, commemorative scrapbooks for players, a post-season awards banquet, and other items during the football season.
There are three levels of sponsorship in the 12th Man -- bronze, silver and gold -- and include T-shirts, gate passes, and banners displayed at all football games at Laws Field.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
