City beginning work on Web site
Eudora City Administrator Cheryl Beatty said the city will begin work on a Web site and plans to have it up within the next six months. The city has budgeted $2,000 to $3,000 for the project and will be in discussion with Stable Systems Solutions to build the site at a cost.
The site will link to fire department, police department, school district and Eudora Chamber of Commerce Web sites, though it will not be elaborate and will contain just basic information.
Beatty said that the site will list city meeting agendas and schedules and will be maintained by city clerks.
"It will be a lot more informative to the public," she said. "It is just one more piece of the puzzle."
She also said residents will be able to report problems to the city via the Web site, allowing them to directly e-mail the city administrator, city clerks and the public works officials.
"That will make it easier for the public to find us, in particular because we're a bedroom community, people don't always remember to make calls," Beatty said. "But now, they can send us an email 24-hours a day and say 'Did you know I have a pothole in front of my home and I'd like to see it repaired.'"
