Cooperative board meeting
The regular meeting of the East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education Board of Directors took place Nov. 13 at the cooperative central office in Baldwin City. Members present were Blaine Cone, Susan Rader, Ande Parks, Jim Martin, Belinda Rehmer, director Caren Lowe and clerk of the board Sue Martin. Ardith Bell was unable to attend.
The certified salary schedule for 2007-2008 passed by a 4-0 vote.
After executive session, Ande Parks made a motion to increase the administrative and office staff salaries by 5 percent for 2007-2008. Susan Rader seconded the motion and it passed by a 5-0 vote.
Susan Rader made a motion to approve paraeducator contracts for Loretta Robson, one day per week in Burdine Taylor's classroom; Russell Hopping, WEBS transition paraeducator and Angela Carlyle, half-time Eudora kindergarten classroom. Martin seconded the motion and it carried by a 5-0 vote.
Lowe discussed the curriculum planning process and showed the board copies of the resulting Life Skills curriculum.
The East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education is the special education cooperative that serves Eudora, Baldwin and Wellsville.
