Rec Center update
Youth ages 5 to 12 will have an opportunity to make a gingerbread house at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Eudora Community Center. There is an $8 fee.
Children ages 3 to 5 will have a preschool Christmas crafts program at 6 p.m. Monday. It is a chance for the children to make their own Christmas gifts for their parents. There is a $5 fee.
Calls from Santa will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18. Parents are asked to call the recreation department at 542-1725 to register their child. There is no charge for the call.
Eudora Parks and Recreation will have a Christmas Camp Dec. 19 to 21 and No School Play Days Dec. 26 to 28.
Certified teachers and aides plan activities for the children including movies, crafts, games and more.
There is a daily fee of $20 or a weekly fee of $85. Parents must provide a sack lunch.
No School Play Days will also take place Jan. 2 and Feb. 18 for $20 per child.
Adult women's volleyball is taking registrations for the winter league. Deadline to sign up is Jan. 3 with matches beginning Jan. 13. There are eight guaranteed matches with champions and runners-up receiving T-shirts. Cost is $100 for each team.
Teams are needed for the men's basketball league. There will be a 10-game season with champions and runners-up winning T-shirts. Deadline for registration is Jan. 2, with games beginning Jan. 7.
Cost is $250 for each team. A six-team minimum is required to offer the league. Forms are available at the recreation office.
