Project Bucca

The Danny and Lee Trimble family are seeking donations for "Project Bucca," a program set up to help local soldiers serving in Iraq.
Needed items include coffee, coffee filters, toothpaste, surgical gloves, hand sanitizers, deodorant, baby wipes, international phone cards, men's socks and Q-tips. Other items include baked goods, candy, beef jerky and DVD movies. Monetary donations to help with shipping costs also will be accepted.
Donation barrels are set up at Simple Simon's Pizza, Eudora Community Center, Eudora City Hall and Coffee Talk through Jan. 1, 2008.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
