Solstice service

St. Paul United Church of Christ will have a Longest Night of the Year service at 7 p.m. Saturday, which is the winter solstice. The service is at the church, Eighth and Church streets.
The Longest Night of the Year service is an opportunity to acknowledge the less-than-merry feelings that can accompany the Christmas season.
The service is open to the community.

¢ The Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff at Eudora United Methodist Church will continue his advent sermon series Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary/Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, east on 10th Street on Douglas County Road 442.
The final topic in the series is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Thank Goodness for the Grinch."
The public is invited to participate in the sermon series.
