Graveside services for Donald "D.L." Hale, 71, Tonganoxie, were Monday, Feb. 5, at Mount Sidney Cemetery in Linwood.
Mr. Hale died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Bonner Springs and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Mr. Hale served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for many years in the trucking industry and most recently drove for Palmer Trucking in Bonner Springs. He was chief of police in Linwood in the 1970s.
Survivors include two daughters, Natalie Mulryan and Kathy Wilson, both of Eudora; two sons, Charles Hale, Lawrence, and Jeff Hale, Overland Park; a sister, Donna Clark, Cameron, Mo.; a brother, Lester Hale, Overland Park; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs was in charge of arrangements.
