Kobza chosen as national school technology adviser
Eudora USD 491 Superintendent Marty Kobza was selected as one of eight professionals from school districts across the country to advise the National School Boards Association on issues of education technology.
As an adviser to the NSBA, Kobza traveled Feb. 7 to 9 to the headquarters in Alexandria, Va., and will also attend a Technology and Learning Conference this fall. All travel and accommodations for both trips are provided by NSBA.
"It is an honor to be asked to serve in this capacity," Kobza said. "It gives me a tremendous opportunity to share our district's needs and goals on a national level."
Among the topics for discussion at the advisers meeting were the use of technology in the classroom, equity and access, funding for new and existing technology and ideas for items to address at the next conference.
"Our district is looking at a lot of different applications of technology and how they best support student learning," Kobza said. "With the growth of our district and the new buildings that will be needed in the coming years, we have an opportunity to evaluate the very best practices in other districts and learn from those programs."
