Obituary: Richard L. Ford III

Memorial services for Richard L. Ford III, 58, Alpharetta, Ga., were Monday, Jan. 8, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel. Inurnment was in the Eudora Cemetery.

Mr. Ford died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at his home.

He was born Feb. 21, 1948, in El Dorado, Ark., the son of Richard L. Jr. and Bertha Hadden Ford. He had lived in Eudora for many years before moving to California and later to Georgia. He attended Eudora High School.

Mr. Ford served the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served in Germany.

He was a template drafter for the Affinity Stoneworks Company in Alpharetta. He formerly owned an electronic repair business in California.

Survivors include his mother, Bertha Ford Nichols, Eudora; his former wife, Gloria Ford, Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Mike Ford, Brussels, Belgium; and a sister, Beverly Emerson, Gilroy, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

His father preceded him in death in 1973.

The family suggests memorials in his name to the charity of the donor's choice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
