Obituary: Harold A. Morley
Funeral services for Harold A. Morley, 86, Eudora, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. Burial will be in Hesper Cemetery.
Mr. Morley died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at the Eudora Nursing Center.
He was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Longford, the son of Walter and Tina Cunningham Morley. He lived in the Eudora area for 70 years.
Mr. Morley served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan.
He worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center for 14 years and retired in 1985. He owned and operated Harold's Repair for 35 years and drove a school bus in Eudora for many years. He was a 38-year volunteer for the Eudora Fire Department.
Mr. Morley was a member of the Eudora United Methodist Church and the International Order of the Odd Fellows in Eudora.
He married Lela Votaw on Dec. 23, 1939, in Columbia, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald "Don" Morley, Tucson, Ariz., and Robert "Bob" Morley, Covina, Calif.; a sister, Alice Andrew, Gardner; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Eudora Chapel.
