Sermon series
The summer sermon series "U2" by the Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff of Eudora United Methodist Church runs through Aug. 5 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary/Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, east on 10th Street on Douglas County Road 442.
The series includes "How the Biggest Rock Band in the World is Challenging the Church" and "Changing the World With the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
The public is invited to participate in any of the sermons.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
