Obituary: John Arvidson
Memorial services for John Arvidson, 74, De Soto, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel.
Mr. Arvidson died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Delmar Gardens in Lenexa.
He was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Horton, the son of Axel Edor and Kristina Malmsten Arvidson.
Mr. Arvidson was a farmer in Robinson for more than 20 years. He later received a master's degree in social work from Kansas University and worked as a social worker in Kansas City, Kan., for 11 years.
He was a member of the Kansas Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and was active in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
He married Dorine Alexander on May 25, 1968, in Wichita. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Mark Arvidson, Richardson, Texas, and Carl Arvidson, Osaka, Japan; three daughters, Julie Walker, Santa Fe, N.M., Cynthia Jusseaume, Kansas City, Mo., and Kristine Lindsey, De Soto; and six grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
