Obituary: Millie Morris
Funeral services for Millie Morris, 64, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lawrence Free Methodist Church. Burial will be at Eudora Cemetery.
Mrs. Morris died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at her home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1943, in rural Jefferson County, the daughter of John and Vera Stephens May. She lived in Eudora for many years.
Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and later worked for First National Bank in Olathe for 15 years. She was known for her Friday evening family dinners, a tradition she continued for more than 25 years.
She attended Lawrence Free Methodist Church.
She married Merle Morris on July 4, 1959, in Eudora. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Corrine Morgan, Gardner, Doreen Zahner, De Soto, and Melissa Cain, Merriam; three sons, Carl Morris, Olathe, Eric Morris, Shawnee, and Mark Morris, Seattle; three brothers, Vernon May, Hamlin, Charles May, Lawrence, and Bob May, Groves, Texas; four sisters, Donna Courter and Mera Mize, both of Oskaloosa, Wilma Shepherd, Eudora, and Ruth Nading, Marion, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora.
