Clarice Morriss and Alta Vorhies attended the Cinco de Mayo celebration Saturday evening at Eudora City Hall. The event was sponsored by the Eudora United Methodist Church.
Tillie Bichelmeyer, Emma Jean Taylor and Valerie Richardson drove to the home of Jan Kelly in Overland Park Tuesday for lunch. They later played pinochle. Ellen Moll, Olathe, and Julie Polfer, Lenexa, also enjoyed the day.
Tillie Bichelmeyer received word Saturday that her brother-in-law Ralph Mersman was seriously ill at Olathe Medical Center.
Betty Ryan and Bud Nielson drove to Waverly Saturday to visit Marie Richard and Jim Roberts. In the evening, they all went to the Burlington Opry.
Darlene Randel said her friends Vencie and Judy Smith are moving back to Pocohontas, Ark.
Felicia Brown, Lawrence, visited her mother, Alta Vorhies, on Monday.
Ricky and Sue Cusimamo, Winthrop Harbor, Ill., Randy and Beth Cobleigh, Kansas City, Mo., and Stan and Felicia Brown and Kenneth and Janet Vorhies, all of Lawrence, had a family dinner with their mother Alta Vorhies on Saturday. Clarice Morriss was also a guest.

We had a birthday dinner Monday in honor of our sister Edna Holmes. Other guests were Howard Belles and Millard and Leola Murray, all of Lawrence. The afternoon was spent talking about old times.
I will have the cataracts taken off my right eye Thursday, so there may not be any news next week. We will have to just see how things go.
