Pinecrest news

Pinecrest manager Carol Scott will have a Mother's Day celebration at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pinecrest II clubroom.

The honors choir will sing at 2 p.m.


  • Marcy Mann and Bettie Davis, Tonganoxie, visited Betty Ryan Tuesday afternoon.

  • Betty Ryan attended the 90th birthday celebration Sunday for her aunt Lona Mae Moore at the Wyandotte County Lake.

  • Joe and Marty Bichelmeyer and Jim Bichelmeyer, Shawnee, took their aunt Tillie Bichelmeyer out for dinner Sunday. They went to Bichelmeyer's Steakhouse in Tonganoxie.

  • Tillie Bichelmeyer played pinochle Tuesday afternoon at the home of Emma Jean Taylor. The other ladies enjoying the afternoon were Jan Kelly, Overland Park, and Julia Polfer and Ellen Moll, Olathe.

  • Darlene Randel and Melvin Miller, Pomona, took Elva Jordan out for lunch on Mother's Day.
  • Shirley Cummings, Olathe, and Melvin Parnell, Topeka, took her mother, Elva Jordan, out for dinner for Mother's Day Sunday evening.


  • Elva Jordan's granddaughter Yvonne Jordan is a new resident in Pinecrest I.

  • Clarice Morriss and her daughter-in-law Marilyn Morriss attended the mother-daughter brunch Saturday given by the Eudora United Methodist Church.

  • Felicia Brown, Lawrence, spent Monday with her mother, Alta Vorhies.

  • Randy and Beth Cobleigh, Kansas City, Mo., took her mother, Alta Vorhies, to their home for Mother's Day dinner Sunday.

  • My family had a birthday dinner last Monday for our sister Carol Belles, Lawrence, at the home of our sister Edna Holmes. Other guests were Howard Belles and Millard and Leola Murray, all of Lawrence.

  • Rita Conner visited me Saturday evening.

  • My sister and brother-in-law Carol and Howard Belles, Lawrence, visited me Saturday evening.

  • My sons Richard Tuggle, Alamosa, Colo., and David Tuggle and my grandson Austin Tuggle visited me Sunday morning.

  • My daughters Sharon Musick, Linwood, and Pam Snively, Maryville, Mo., took me out for dinner Sunday for Mother's Day. My sons Dudley Steffen, Gravois Mills, Mo., and Raymond Steffen, Mesa, Ariz., both called to wish me Happy Mother's Day.

  • My great-granddaughter Heather Harner, Mesa, Ariz., called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and to see how my eye surgery went.

  • My recent eye surgery went fine. I will have the left eye done June 14.
