Obituary: Mable L. Meuffel

Graveside services for Mable L. Meuffel, 91, Eudora, were Wednesday, May 23, at Eudora Cemetery.

Mrs. Meuffel died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She had lived at the Eudora Nursing Center for the last 18 months.

She was born Feb. 4, 1916, in Leavenworth County, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Warren Wallace. She graduated from Eudora High School and attended business college.

Mrs. Meuffel was a homemaker. She worked for Stokely Van Camp and the Eudora Nursing Center.

She married Herbert H. Meuffel. He died July 31, 1973.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Neis, Eudora; two sons, Norman Meuffel, Eudora, and Dennis Meuffel, Lawrence; and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Meuffel was preceded in death by two brothers, Bennie Wallace and Roy Wallace, and a sister, Elnora Armstrong.

The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 1003 John L. Williams Dr., Eudora 66025.
