Middle school basketball
The seventh-grade Lady Cardinals varsity basketball team lost Monday to Wellsville 42-10.
The Lady Cards were led in scoring by Emma Beck with six. Sarah Kruger and Rayah Kobza each scored two.
The seventh-grade junior varsity squad came home with a win, taking a close one that went back and forth, 17-16.
Kyliegh Price led the team in scoring with seven. Cameron Stude and Robi Lycan had four each and Britani Shrum had two.
The eighth-grade varsity played another nail-biter Monday in Wellsville. The Lady Cards trailed closely behind Wellsville most of the game, but turned on the juice in the last couple minutes of the game. However, Wellsville was able to hang on and beat Eudora 13-12 in an exciting finish.
After dropping its record to 1-2 with a 13-6 loss at Wellsville Monday, the eighth-grade junior varsity Lady Cardinals looked to bounce back as they hosted Tonganoxie on Tuesday.
Eudora jumped out to an early lead and would never look back.
Eudora's aggressive defense, as well as their ability to crash the boards, set the tone for the game as the Cards held Tongie to quarterly scores of 4, zero, 3, and 2 points, respectively.
Led by Beverly Virtue's 10 points, Eudora emerged victorious with an 18-9 win, evening up their record at 2-2 on the season. Julianna Fries and Cassie Roberts each added four for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals travel to Louisburg Thursday.
