Birth: Peter William Neis
Stan and Kari Neis, Eudora, announce the birth of a son, Peter William Neis, on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Pete weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has an older sister, Taylor, 21 months.
Grandparents are Clifford and Sylvia Neis, Eudora, Joleen Hilgenfeld, rural Dawson, Neb., and the late Ron Hilgenfeld.
Pete's great-grandparents are Roy and Betty Sheaff, South Bend, Neb.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
