Pinecrest news
Fourteen residents attended the November birthday in Pinecrest II clubroom Friday night. Those celebrating birthdays were Betty Ryan and Mary Lile.

Ada Bender, a former Pinecrest resident, visited Betty Ryan on the telephone recently. She now lives in Texas.

Shirley Cummings, Olathe, and Barbara Edmonds visited Elva Jordan and Darlene Randel Saturday afternoon.
Clarice Morriss and Alta Vorhies drove to Lawrence Sunday afternoon to shop.

Felicia Brown, Lawrence, visited her mother Alta Vorhies Monday morning.

My great-granddaughter Autumn Musick visited me Sunday evening.

I had a birthday dinner Nov. 10 for my son Dudley Steffen's 70th birthday in Pinecrest II clubroom.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
