Rec notes

Sponsorships of Eudora recreational teams are available for local businesses that wish to have their names on the fields or courts.

  • Those who would like to be placed on a recreation bulletin mailing list are asked to e-mail the recreation department at eudorarec@sunflower.com with basic information to be alerted to upcoming programs.

  • The Eudora Parks and Recreation Department plans to begin after-school daycare services for Eudora's children Oct. 15.

Aftercare will be provided from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the new Eudora Community Center.

Cost is $5 daily or $20 weekly.

Registration forms are available at the recreation department offices, 14 E. Seventh St.


  • Youth and adult basketball sign-ups are beginning. Registration forms are available at the recreation department offices at 14 E. Seventh St.

Divisions for youth basketball will be for third- and fourth-grade boys and girls, and fifth- and sixth-grade boys and girls. Children ages three through five will participate in a basketball clinic.

The deadline for registration is Nov. 16.


  • Eudora Parks and Recreation will offer Tae Kwon Do classes when the construction of the community center is complete.

Instructor Bob Brinkley, who holds a second degree black belt, will have classes for 4- to 6-year-olds, 7- to 12-year olds and adults ages 13 and older.

The classes will be Monday and Wednesday evenings.

There is a charge for the classes.
