Eudora High School seniors Ashley Kraus and Brian Harris were named homecoming queen and king during halftime ceremonies of the Eudora-Baldwin football game. Eudora defeated Baldwin 41-21 to win its first league title in 28 years.

Angela Yarnell, the director of choirs for Eudora High School, has a window in her office covered with pictures of her students performing. But not all of the students who performed in some plays made it into the photos because there was not enough room on the stage in the Eudora Middle School auditorium where band concerts, variety shows and choral programs for all levels of the school are held.

The city of Eudora will look into the possibility of beginning three transportation studies that would investigate anticipated effects of the Kansas Turnpike Authority’s plans for a new Tonganoxie interchange, growth eastward from 10th Street to Kansas Highway 10 and the need for a traffic signal at the high school.

The Eudora volleyball team’s reign atop the state came to a close Saturday with a bang.
More accurately it was the sharp slap of leather on fist as St. James Academy ended the Cardinals’ three-year stint as sub-state champions and state tournament qualifiers.

Eudora coach Gregg Webb’s 200th win actually came Sept. 14 in Eudora’s 41-15 homecoming win against Wellsville, but the milestone was recognized Friday night following win No. 205.

Eudora coach Gregg Webb stood in front of the packed stands surrounding Laws Field, his family flanked to either side of him, and waved his thanks to an adoring crowd.
Only moments before, career win No. 205 had become official, though he was currently acknowledging No. 200.
All that’s on the Cardinals’ minds this week is No. 206, however.
Eudora slammed De Soto 55-14, a win greased by eight Wildcat turnovers. The Cards are now focused on the showdown at Baldwin City.

EudoraFest 2007 was fantastic. The 11th EudoraFest was the biggest one we’ve ever had. Main Street was packed with people. Vendor signup totaled 123. The car show had some real cool vehicles. The garden tractor pull had a large following. The talent show and entertainment was great. Even the cakewalk had a lot of winners.

Paschal Fish’s fourth wife was Martha Captain, born in 1814. She died in 1860, after her name was put on Eudora’s deed. This is when Paschal sold 774 acres of his land to the trustees of the German Immigrant Society of Chicago to found the town of Eudora.

The Eudora Middle School eighth-grade girls varsity basketball team started its season Monday against rival Baldwin.

The seventh-grade football team recorded its first win of the season Oct. 9 defeating the Wheatridge Mustangs 26-14. Eudora took control of the game in the first half and never gave up the lead.
