Tillie Bichelmeyer's nephew Tom Mersman, Paola, had open-heart surgery Monday at KU Medical Center. The replaced part of his aorta, a valve and two artery bypasses. He is doing OK and will be dismissed this week.
Tillie Bichelmeyer's sister-in-law Frances Smith, Slater, Mo., and her son-in-law Larry Singer, Lee's Summit, Mo., came to visit Thursday morning. They all went out for lunch.
Tillie Bichelmeyer and Emma Jean Taylor drove to Ellen Moll's in Lenexa where Julia Polfer, Leawood, and Jan Kelley, Overland Park, joined them for lunch. They played pinochle in the afternoon.

I was a dinner guest Friday evening of my son and daughter-in-law David and Rhonda Tuggle in honor of my grandson Austin's 13th birthday. Other guests were Bob and Cherry Easton, Gardner, Sharon Stolemaker and Elva Kindred.
