Cardinals stunned in playoff opener, fall to Basehor 13-8
Basehor-Linwood was playing host to Eudora Tuesday in the first round of the playoffs. Still, the Bobcats stunning 13-8 victory over the Cardinals can only be classified as an upset.
Basehor, 4-5 entering the game, scored on its first drive of the game and on one of its last to hold off a fourth-quarter charge by Eudora, 8-2 after the loss. Tyler Miles of Basehor scored both touchdowns.
Eudora took the lead late, first scoring with a safety when Chase Rust sacked the quarterback in the endzone. Matthew Abel then put the Cardinals up 8-6 with a 16-yard touchdown run minutes later. The Bobcats came back, however, Miles going in from 12 yards with five minutes, six seconds remaining in the game.
Eudora's season ended in the first round of the playoffs for the second time in three years.
