Freshman football
The freshman football season continued Sept. 6 with a home game against Osawatomie.
After a sluggish offensive first half, with the score tied 8-8, the Cardinals came alive in the second half with a scoring drive lasting the entire third quarter. Relying on a staunch defense and offensive execution, the Cardinals came away with a 24-8 win, running their record to 2-0.
Coach Kevin Wade said big plays on defense and a hard-nosed running attack led to the victory.
The freshman team will resume its season Sept. 20 at Wellsville.
