Gospel meetings planned

The Rev. Loy Mitchell will present "The Real Truth" during a series of gospel meetings Sept. 16 to 20 at Eudora Church of Christ, 1530 Winchester Road, Eudora. The community is invited to attend.

Mitchell, who currently lives in Dyersburg, Tenn., with his wife, Debbie, is the preacher for the Red Walnut Church of Christ. He was born and lived in Lawrence from 1932 to 1950. He graduated from Lawrence High School and attended Oklahoma Christian College and Abilene Christian College.

He was a missionary in Africa for 28 years and has dedicated a total of 49 years to the work effort in Africa. He has preached the gospel for 57 years in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee.

Mitchell will present the following lessons on the theme "The Real Truth" during the meetings:

Sept. 16, 10 a.m. -- "The Real Truth Concerning Does God Exist?"; 11 a.m. -- "The Real Truth Concerning is the Bible Really Inspired?"; 6:30 p.m. -- "The Real Truth Concerning Does God Really Care About How We Worship?"

Sept. 17, 7:30 p.m. -- "The Real Truth Concerning the One Church."

Sept. 18, 7:30 p.m. -- "The Real Truth Concerning Baptism."

Sept. 19, 7:30 p.m. -- "The Real Truth About How the Lord Opens the Heart."

Sept. 20, 7:30 p.m. -- "The Real Truth Concerning Never Giving Up."
