Sermon series
The Eudora United Methodist Church is having a sermon series over several weeks at 9:15 a.m. Sundays at its temporary location at Warren-McElwain Mortuary/Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, east on 10th Street on Douglas County Road 442.
The Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff will lead the series.
Topics include ""Acts of the Apostles Building a Spirit-Filled Church: Proclaiming," Sunday; "Who Is Jesus Christ?" Sept. 23; "Acts of the Apostles Building a Spirit-Filled Church: Sharing and Honest," Sept. 30; "How Do We Read the Bible?," Oct. 7; and "Acts of the Apostles Building a Spirit-Filled Church: Obedient," Oct. 14.
The public is invited to participate in any or all of the sermons.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
