Dog obedience classes offered

September 20, 2007

Eudora Parks and Recreation will offer a free dog obedience class from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Bluejacket Park at 14th and Cedar streets.

The classes will be taught by Kevin Wood, a dog trainer/handler who has years of experience in training dogs for obedience and hunting competition. Wood has trained many dogs to placements in hunting tests and he trains dogs for individuals who desire well trained and obedient home companions or hunting companions.

He recently placed a dog in the senior hunting level in an AKC sponsored event in Spivey and he was one of the first trainers in the country to train a spaniel to the AKC master level.

Wood's dog Pippin was one of the first AKC master hunter spaniels in America. He currently is training two competition spaniels.
