Maybe there is a little method to the madness. For the fourth straight game, the Eudora High School football team found itself staring at a deficit. And, like the previous three contests, the Cardinals responded with a knock-out punch, this time delivering four consecutive touchdowns Friday night to put away Prairie View, 34-20.
Early lead doesn’t hold for Cardinals

Despite scoring first and even managing to tie the contest in early in the second half, the Eudora High School soccer team suffered a 4-2 defeat against Gardner Edgerton Tuesday evening. The Cardinals, however, put up a solid fight in the contest after being shut out, 4-0, when the two teams met in the season opener in August.
Rain splits cross country team

Last week’s rain changed the time and the place, and in two circumstances even the race, for the Eudora cross country team. It didn’t change the Cardinals quick ways, however. The team’s scheduled Thursday trip to Tonganoxie was washed out by several days of rain. Most of the squad showed back up when the event was rescheduled, Monday. The Eudora girls team raced to a second-place finish and senior Emily Ballock was sixth.

Atmos files for increase

Atmos Energy Corporation filed Sept. 14 with the Kansas Corporation Commission for an overall increase of $5 million in the annual revenues of its Kansas natural gas utility operations. Atmos Energy had not filed for a rate increase since 2003.
