KUMC student in Eudora
University of Kansas School of Medicine student Linet Ochweri is participating in a community-based educational experience for four weeks with Dr. Daniel Dickerson of the Eudora Family Practice. Ochweri began her duties Sept. 24.
Dickerson is a volunteer mentor, or preceptor, with the school's Kansas Rural Preceptor Program. The program places all fourth-year medical students in communities across Kansas to introduce them to the practice of primary care in non-urban areas, to increase their awareness of professional opportunities in rural areas and to give them the opportunity to use their diagnostic and clinic skills in real-life scenarios under the guidance of their preceptor mentors.
