Win over Gardner makes Eudora 5-0
With three touchdown runs in the first half including an 88-yard kickoff return on the first play of the game, Matthew Abel led the Eudora High School football team to a 48-21 win over Gardner-Edgerton Friday night.
Along with the touchdown, Abel scored on runs of 42 and 31 yards to help give its team the early lead. It is the first time all season that EHS didn't trail at any point during the game.
The Cardinals were able to add another touchdown before the half to lead 28-14. Eudora's defense would step things up in the second half to only allow one more score for the remainder of the contest.
The win moved the Cardinals to 5-0 overall on the season heading into next week's road contest at Anderson County.
