ECKCE board meeting
The regular meeting of the East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education Board of Directors was April 8. The meeting was held at the Cooperative Central Office, located at 715 Chapel, Baldwin City. Members present were Blaine Cone, Ande Parks, Fred Schnoke (new Wellsville Board member replacing Ardith Bell), Susan Rader, Belinda Rehmer, Director Caren Lowe, and Clerk of the Board Sue Martin. Jim Martin was unable to attend.
Rehmer made a motion, based on Lowe's request, to allow the Director's two-year contract to continue through June 2009 and renew it in January 2009 on an annual basis. Susan Rader seconded the motion and it carried by a 5-0 vote.
Parks made a motion to add a part-time Personnel Development Facilitator for the 2008-09 school year. Rader seconded the motion and it passed by a 5-0 vote.
Rehmer made a motion to accept the resignations of Burdine Taylor, BES-PC and Marlene Nelson, HI teacher. Parks seconded the motion and it carried by a 5-0 vote.
Rehmer made a motion to approve 51 certified staff contracts for the 2008-09 school term. Parks seconded the motion and it carried by a 5-0 vote.
Lowe reported on the Gifted Program and the mission, curriculum, activities and accomplishments this school year. Pam Davis, Extended Learning Teacher, has been nominated for the SENG Award.
