Exercise classes offered

Eudora residents Arline Kindle and Melanie Johnson are offering exercise classes from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 2008 at the Eudora Community Center, 1638 Elm Street.
Registrations will be accepted at the class.
The hour-long class will combine 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of stretching and body sculpting through the use of weights and floor exercises.
Participants are asked to bring their own exercise mat and water.
There is a fee to participate.

¢ The Eudora Parks and Recreation will offer yoga and Pilates classes, beginning Jan. 8 at the Eudora Community Center, 1638 Elm St.
Yoga classes will be from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays. Pilates will be offered from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 8 and from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. Thursdays beginning Jan. 10.
Stretch-n-Grow classes will be from 5:45 to 6:15 Tuesdays beginning Jan. 8.
Those planning to attend are asked to bring an exercise or yoga mat.
There is a fee for each of the eight-week classes.

¢ Jazzercise classes that formerly took place at the Eudora Community Center will now take place at the new Jazzercise Fitness Center, 32565 Lexington Ave., De Soto.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
