New Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department Web site

The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department has launched a new Web site focusing on local health issues.
The department launched ldchealth.org Tuesday to give residents a better understanding of what the Health Department offers to the community, department director Dan Partridge said.
The Web site will include links and forms for activities ranging from installing a septic system in the county to becoming a licensed child care facility. The site includes information about the department's health clinic operations, flu shot programs and agendas and minutes for the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Board.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
