Eighth grade basketball
The eighth grade Eudora boys basketball team played the Baldwin Bulldogs Monday at home. After falling in a 51-29 defeat to Baldwin 10 days ago in the championship game of the Wellsville tournament, the Cardinals again found themselves on the losing end, this time falling 40-33.
First half turnovers and Baldwin's second-half three-point shooting proved to be the keys to game. The Cardinals showed marked improvement from the first time they played Baldwin and continue to get better.
The team won a huge game Thursday against Louisburg, pulling out a 29-24 victory. Once again a fast start by the Cardinals led to a half time lead of 20-7. Good adjustments by Louisburg and some Eudora offensive struggles allowed the Wildcats back in the game, but solid defense down the stretch allowed the Cardinals to hold on for the win.
Eudora, with a 3-2 record, will travel Thursday to Paola.
¢ The eighth grade Eudora boys junior varsity team started its Monday game against Baldwin slow, trailing 20-4 after the first half. The team came storming back, however, making it a close game in the second half.
Eudora finally lost, 38-27.
Good offense and tough defense helped the Cardinals in the come back.
The team beat Louisburg Thursday thanks to hot shooting and some great defense. The Cards won 34-17.
