Seventh grade basketball
The Eudora seventh grade boys varsity team traveled Monday to Baldwin to face the Bulldogs for the second time in ten days. Hoping to improve on a 37-21 loss from the first meeting, Eudora came out aggressive and ready to scrap. The team showed it is making progress on both the offensive and defensive side of the court. Baldwin's size and speed was still too much for the Cardinals, however, as the Bulldogs handed Eudora their third loss of the season, 44-22.
The team also lost a game Thursday against Louisburg. A stifling Louisburg press handcuffed the Cards early on, preventing Eudora from doing nearly everything it wanted to do.
The Wildcats forced turnover after turnover and Eudora found itself trailing 32-3 at halftime. The Cards came out in the third and managed to keep things even at 10 for the period, but Louisburg managed to win the 4th quarter convincingly and walked away with a 51-15 win.
The Cards will look to even up their 2-3 record as they host Paola on Thursday.
¢ The seventh grade boys junior varsity fought a defensive battle Monday against the Baldwin Bulldogs. The final score left the Cardinals with a disappointing 16-7 loss.
The team fought a hard battle against the Louisburg Wildcats Thursday. The first half had the Cardinals trailing big, 20-4. The big deficit lit a fire under the Cards and they began to fight back in the third quarter.
Eudora cut the lead to nine, 25-16, at the end of the third, but in the final quarter the Wildcats proved too much for the Cardinals. The final score was 38-17.
The team will face Paola Thursday at home.
