Eighth-grade basketball

The Eudora eighth-grade boys varsity basketball team was back on the road taking on the Paola Panthers Thursday.
Playing good defense and running a patient offense kept the game close against the taller Panthers. Missed opportunities and struggles from the free throw line led to the 23-20 loss.
¢ The Cardinals never hit their stride in junior varsity action, losing to Paola, 49-19.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
