Eudora Parks and Recreation Update
Eudora Parks and Recreation and the Lawrence Red Cross will have a certification babysitting clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Eudora Community Center, 1638 Elm St.
The clinic is intended for youth ages 9 to 12 and will teach CPR, first aid and how to respond to an emergency.
There is a fee and participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.
Registrations are being accepted at the Eudora Community Center. The deadline date is Feb. 11.
¢ Eudora Parks and Recreation will have a "No School Play Day" Feb. 18. The cost is $20 per child. Parents are asked to provide a sack lunch.
¢ Those who would like to be placed on a recreation bulletin mailing list are asked to e-mail the recreation department at eudorarec@sunflower.com with basic contact information.
Those who sign up for the mailing list will be alerted about upcoming programs.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
