Fire and EMS calls
The Eudora Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services had a busy Sunday night, receiving five calls in the span of 30 minutes.
The result of severe thunderstorms, all of the calls dealt with downed or arcing power lines.
"I'm proud of the way the firefighters stepped up to handle the multiple calls," Fire Chief Randy Ates said. "We were able to keep three fire trucks staffed and spread out to answer the numerous alarms. At the same time, two of our EMS personnel were on standby at the station for EMS calls since so many of our personnel were busy."
