Community Center update
The second session of Blastball for kids ages 3-5 is now open for registration. Price is $25 for 4 "game nights." BlastBall is an introduction to baseball/softball fundamentals.
The registration deadline is June 27, and the first night will be July 7.
¢ Gymnastics programs have started again, with classes for students in the preschool through 10-11 age range. For more information or to register, please e-mail Sarah Tharp at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at (785) 418-2527. The cost is $50 or $60 for six weeks, depending on the class age.
¢ Men's Basketball for the summer will be heating back up in July. Deadline is July 11, with games starting later that month on Wednesday evenings.
Price is $200 per team for eight full-court games. This league is for ages 16 and up. League champs and runners-up receive T-shirts and bragging rights.
¢ EP&R is considering a slow-pitch co-ed softball league for the late summer and early fall seasons. The initial plan is to play on Sunday evenings with a minimum of four teams.
Teams consist of at least nine players, with a preference of 10. The batting order will stagger men and women, and the softball used will change accordingly.
The games will have an umpire presiding and be played on Eudora's Babe Ruth field at Lucy Kaegi Park.
¢ Also, anyone wanting to advertise a business or other venture in the Fall/Winter program guide needs to contact Jim Kegin at EP&R, 542-1725.
EP&R also wants to add more programs but needs to gauge an interest level in the following activities. They are requesting public input and are considering sports leagues for kickball, dodgeball and pickleball, among others.
