The Eudora USD 491 Board of Education Thursday accepted 22 bids totaling more than $20 million in various construction jobs for the new elementary school.
The school received 86 total bids for jobs such as plumbing, masonry, roofing and electrical work.
After receiving approval of the plat and site plans, Superintendent Marty Kobza said the project still was on schedule.
“We feel very comfortable that we’re right on track,” he said.
In other actions, the board:
• Recognized 10 middle school students who took the ACT test. Six of the students were recognized by the state for their scores.
• Recognized teachers of the year Bonnie Daigh, EHS math teacher, and Megan Whitebread, EWE fourth and fifth grade teacher.
• Accepted a bid of $71,800 from Paradise Asphalt for asphalt and resealing of the EWE, EMS and EHS parking lots.
