JoAnna Male had never run on the cross country course in Gardner until last Thursday.
But her inexperience with the course hardly slowed her down as she finished in seventh overall with a time of 18:17 to lead Eudora’s girls squad that finished in fifth place at the meet.

Resurfacing of Church Street will take place Saturday. Work was supposed to take place throughout the week, but Douglas County Public Works, the City of Eudora and contractor LRM Industries Inc. decided it would cause less disruption to local traffic if work was done on a day during the weekend as opposed to a weekday.

Congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays for achieving something the Kansas City Royals haven’t done since 1985: making postseason play.
The Brewers made the postseason for the first time since 1982, and the Rays made the postseason for the first time in their franchise’s 10-year history.
