April 2, 2009

Eudora Boy Scout Troop 64 camped out March 20 at Charles Slaughter’s farm, southeast of Eudora. Scouts had an evening campfire with a skit, stories and jokes and spent a good night with only a few sprinkles of rain. Scouts and guests attending were Connor Bradley, Nathan Bradley, Patrick Bradley, Elizabeth Bradley and James Giffin. Adults attending were John Scott, Jerry Criqui, and Damon Bradley.

With help from the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Eudora 4-H Club, and volunteers from the United Methodist Church, St. Paul’s Church of Christ, Catholic Church Confirmation class, Troop 64 Alumni, Troop 64 also participated in the Scouting-for-Food food drive on Saturday. The community of Eudora donated more than 2200 cans, boxes and containers of food that were delivered to the Eudora Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, located at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Anyone who still wants to make a donation to the Food Pantry may take packaged foods to the Pantry at eighth and Church streets. Monetary donations may be made to the Eudora Ministerial Alliance marked for the food pantry.

Troop 64 is sponsored by the Eudora Lions Club.
