City council approves fire station upgrades

The Eudora City Council at a meeting Monday approved upgrades to the city fire station. The upgrades will bring the facility up to building code, meet Americans with Disabilities Act and accommodate out-of-city firefighters who spend part of their shift at the station.

The theme for the 13th annual EudoraFest, which will be Oct. 3, is “Are you feeling lucky?” New this year to the celebration in downtown Eudora will be a parade that will begin at 9 a.m.

Cole Massey, the son of Diane and Kenny Massey of Eudora, graduated Aug. 6 from the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department Academy. He was one of a class of 31 officers who graduated.
