West Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Niki Rheuport was named EWE ’s teacher of the year.
She has been teaching in Eudora for five years, and for nine years overall.

Mayoral candidate Fred Stewart was the top vote-getter in the primary election, receiving 369 votes. Jim Hoover finished second with 157 votes. Willie Shepard, the other candidate on the ballot, received 50 votes.
