JV boys top Ottawa

The Eudora junior varsity boys rolled past Ottawa 75-52 Tuesday night at Eudora.

Coulter Vestal led the Cardinals with 19 points and Christian Richardson had 16 points, six assists and five steals against the Cyclones.

The JV squad will finish the regular season Friday at Spring Hill.

JV boys win Eudora Tournament

The Eudora junior varsity basketball squad won first-place Saturday at the Eudora JV Tournament.

Eudora beat the Lawrence-Free State sophomores 49-44 and defeated Baldwin in the championship match 57-36. J.T. Sellers led Eudora with 19 points against Free State, and Vestal and Richardson paced Eudora with 14 points in the championship game.

JV girls cruise past Ottawa

The Eudora junior varsity girls team defeated Ottawa 51-34 Tuesday at Eudora. The girls will finish regular season play Friday at Spring Hill.

Jump selected to USA Soccer Team

Eudora junior Matt Jump has been chosen to play at the 2009 Gothia Cup on the USA Soccer Team this summer in Sweden. Jump needs sponsors for the trip. Those interested should contact Shawnee Jump at 218-9575.

Baseball Pitching Clinic

Lawrence Phenix Fastpitch looking for players

Lawrence Phenix Fastpitch 10-U and 12-U are currently looking for two players that are interested in playing competitive softball in 2009. The squad will play about 10 tournaments in Kansas and Missouri.

Indoor practices have already begun. Those interested in playing for the 10-U squad should contact Bob Folks at 785-766-5008. Those interested in playing for the 12-U squad should contact Barry Johnson at 785-218-9155 for a tryout.

Austin to race full season in NASCAR Truck Series

Eudora native Chase Austin has agreed to run a full season on the NASCAR Truck circuit with sponsor Trail Motorsport.

Austin finished 13th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ NextEra Energy Resources 250 Feb. 13 at Daytona Beach, Fla. He also finished 23rd last week in the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
